Canon: Transforming E⁠-⁠⁠commerce since 2018

Beginning in 2018, our partnership has focused on enhancing Canon’s e⁠-⁠commerce capabilities, resulting in significant improvements in user experience, operational efficiency, and sales performance.

Canon’s primary requests involved UX design, comprehensive implementation and integration, web analytics, and 24/7 SLA-based support. Our dedicated project team of 5 engineers worked tirelessly each month to meet these demands.

Redesign Home Page and Checkout Renovation

Canon aimed to improve user interaction and streamline the checkout process. Our UX analysis revealed areas for enhancement, leading to a complete homepage redesign to enhance visual appeal and user navigation. We also implemented a new checkout system using the progressive Vue.js framework. As a result, active sessions on the checkout increased tenfold without performance loss, transactions increased by 3.6 times, checkout exits decreased by 10%, and order placement time was reduced by 40%.

New Payment Methods

To offer more flexible payment options, we integrated installment payment and credit methods. This integration resulted in a 20% increase in total orders and a 37% increase in total order value within a year.

Solving Integration Issues with ERP and Delivery Services

Canon faced critical integration issues between their ERP system and existing delivery services, leading to overselling. We conducted a thorough analysis of the order flow, added logging to identify critical issues, and resolved order tracking problems. Results: 43% reduction in requests related to order status issues.

New Delivery Service Integration

To enhance delivery efficiency in major regions, we integrated a new delivery service. Results: 57% reduction in canceled orders due to long delivery times. Duration of delivery before was 3-6 days, after — 2-3 days.

Loyalty Program

We implemented a loyalty program using Magento’s «Rewards and Loyalty» functionality, customized for Canon’s specific needs. As the result — tangible increase in repeat purchase rate.

Creating Promo Pages

We enabled fast and easy landing page implementation directly from the admin panel. As the results: reduced setup time from over 5 hours to 2 hours — over 100 promo pages created after implementation and 300+ hours saved.

Ink Finder and Lens Finder

We developed tools to help users find suitable products quickly, with customizable settings from the admin panel. Results: 88% increase in orders with consumables.

AMP Technology for Landing Pages

We designed and created landing pages for large marketing campaigns using AMP technology for faster loading times. Results: 2x faster page load times, 41% less development time for new landing pages.

Soft-Kits

We implemented a marketing tool for bundled product discounts, considering pricing features and interaction with other marketing tools. Results: Increased share of orders with Soft-Kits from 9% to 15%.

Bundle Tool

The Bundle Tool is a flexible tool that allows the user to step-by-step collect a set of discounted products from the options offered to him.

We have designed and implemented an attractive tool with the ability to easily customize the promotion mechanics from the administration panel: Implemented the ability to limit interaction with other online store mechanics, added a convenient setting for each tool step. Mechanics customization is available for each product of the set: a fixed discount or discount in currency or a gift. Result: up to 57% of discounted products sales growth.

Through our dedicated efforts, Canon’s e-commerce platform has experienced substantial growth:

  • 4x  increase in orders;
  • 47% increase in conversion rate;
  • 60% increase in average order value.
